Travel I-93/Route 3 South to Boston. Get to I-93 by going North from Rt. 3 (Nashua) and South from Rt. 95 (Portsmouth) on Rt. 128.

You will take the highway South through several cities before taking Exit #26 Storrow Drive/Cambridge. This is an unusual off-ramp: it is one mile long. Stay to the left as you pass the Fleet Center and follow the sign to Storrow Drive.

This will put you into a short tunnel. Stay in the left lane and exit on the left at the Government Center/Kendall Sq. exit. You'll know you're on Storrow Drive because it is a 50-year old highway. This exit will put you on the left in an old, short tunnel. Stay in the left lane and take the first exit to the left at the Government Center/Kendall Sq. exit.

Move to the right while exiting. Cross at the stop sign and continue under a bridge through the traffic light, then bear to the right of the CVS Pharmacy and onto Charles Street . The Charles Street Inn is located at 94 Charles Street; two blocks down, on the right, between Pinckney & Mount Vernon Streets.
